Your Guide To The JESUS. All About Life Campaign

posted on 2009-09-19

We have a great opportunity to share our faith with others in the coming months. Read on to find out more and get involved.

What's It All About?

The Jesus. All About Life campaign is an exciting ecumenical program which raises awareness of the person of Jesus. An initiative of the Bible Society, the campaign uses TV, online and print media to take a shared message out it Australians. Catholic Churches together with other Christian communities are registering their involvement by offering local community events and activities.

When does the Campaign Run?

The campaign is in three phases:

7 September, contributions to an online gallery using social networking sites (e.g. Facebook) invites people to share the ways they are thankful for God.

13 September -  involves press (17 Newspapers), banners signs, websites and posters on 300 bus shelters.

Late September for six weeks of TV and cinema advertising.

Getting Involved

Find out more about the campaign

The Jesus. All About Life website is the best place to find out more. http://www.jesusallaboutlife.com.au/.

Pray that people may be drawn to God through the Spirit

Pray for those you know who may have drifted away from their faith, as well as those yet to respond to God's call. Ask that the Spirit may prompt them through the campaign and that you may have the courage and opportunity to speak with them.

Connect with people. Share your faith. Listen to their story.

Is there someone waiting for you to invite them back to church, or with whom you can raise the subject of Jesus? The ads make a great starting point for conversation. Some of the responses will be negative, but that doesn't matter, it still gives the opportunity for discussion. A way of connecting with others is offered overleaf.

Invite and accompany others to local events

You can invite them to your parish Mass or any other activity in the life of your parish. In addition, there are number of Catholic regional events being advertised.

Follow Up

Is there a way to continue to engage with people after the campaign? Prayer groups, resources, community gatherings? RCIA or Catholics Returning Home? Continue to them them both find information about our faith as well as connect them with other Catholics.

Change of Mass Times - Sunday 4th October

posted on 2009-09-19

As you may be aware, our Parish is celebrating the Feast of St Francis of Asisi with an outdoor mass with a blessing of animals. In discerning the most appropriate time for this mass it has been decided to hold this mass in the Kiama Church Grounds at 9.30am on Sunday Morning. This will entail a change of mass time for Sunday the 4th only, with no 8am Mass at Kiama and masses offered at Jamberoo and Gerringong at 8.00am rather than 9.30am
