Give to the most High as He has given to you, generously, according to your means.

All my ‘goods’ – my character, my health, my wealth, my time, etc. – come from God and belong to God.  I should enjoy them and use them accordingly.

Stewardship is learning how to live in gratitude; gratitude for what God has blessed me with. There are many ways to express this gratitude. Give back to God something of what God given me. God\'s gift are those of my time, my talents, my possessions and my faith.

Stewardship requires a new vision, a change in our faith lens. " I used to be stone deaf. I saw people stand up and make all kinds of wild gyrations. They called it dancing. I thought it was foolish until one day i heard the music."

To commit to stewardship gives us the opportunity to share our gifts - gift given to us by a good and gracious God, and build a holy place within our lives, our parish, our diocese, our Church. It is the willingness to assume a lifestyle of sharing.

Taking stewardship seriously, as a way of life, is like the first swim of the summer when the water is almost too cold for swimming. It makes us gasp at first. After the first few minutes (well ... a little longer) you get used to it and its bracing effect feels great. It is exhilarating.

Stewardship involves asking ourselves this question each day: "What can I do for the Lord for all his goodness to me?" We then put our answers into practice in our daily living.

Stewardship poses the question: How do  I make use of my skills and my money? In other words, do I handle these as gifts belonging to God, which I am meant to manage on God behalf and God purposes? Or do I consider my skills and my money as belonging to me - possessions which I occasionally bestown on others? How we answer this question makes all the difference in the world. The difference deals not so much with the effect upon others, but with the effect upon me. That is a key to stewardship. Not the need of others to receive but my need to give!

Those who confer benefits will be amply enriched, those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Serve one another with whatever gifts each of you has received.

Stewardship is a conversion process

Stewardship is a conversion process. It has to do with a conversion of heart and mind -  a whole different way of looking things. It is a whole different way of viewing the reality of participation of Christian life, dealing with the goods of this world, our parishes, our church, and organizations of which we are a part. It is a new mindset.
