Knitting Circle

FROM LITTLE THINGS, BIG THINGS GROW!!

Two friends talking together one day reminiscing about family, brought to their early childhood memory the days of coming home from school and stepping out of the cold to find Mum in the company of neighbours and friends.  The atmosphere in the room was rich with energy which lingered long afterwards - they were knitting and telling stories!  The two friends thought that perhaps those days were gone.

But was it so far in the past?  Why not try to do the same for OUR time and place?

Time has passed and now we have a wonderful group of women who come together once a week for two hours, simply for the joy it brings. We knit, share stories, patterns, and even recipes whilst at the same time supporting each other on our life’s journey.

THE KIAMA KNITTING CIRCLE  meets every MONDAY 1 – 3 pm

In the SS Peter & Paul’s Parish Meeting Room, Kiama

We started in 2004 with a membership of two – now there are 20 + enjoying each other's company.

Some of the results of our work:

  • "Wrapped with love" rugs, sent to disaster zones around the world
  • Trauma teddy bears are sent to the medical centre for sick or traumatised children and adults.
  • Money raised from the sale of knitted items is sent to the ‘Youth off the Streets’ organisation started by Fr Chris Riley.
