  Prayer around the Cross

Light of the world,candles

enter into the depths of our lives.

Comes into the dark and hidden places.

Walk in the storehouse of our memories.

Hear the hidden secrets of the past.

Plumb the very depth of our being.

Be present through the silent hours

and bring us safely to your glorious light.

Drawing inspiration from the prayers and music of Taize in France, Prayer Around the Cross each year in the Wollongong Diocese offers a Pilgrimage to several small churches in our South Coast area between Wollongong and Nowra.

A key element of Taize prayer is that it is ecumenical Christian prayer, a prayer for which Christians of all traditions are given an opportunity to gather together in the spirit of the Risen Lord……to offer a quiet atmosphere for prayer and reflection.

The South Coast Prayer Around the Cross Taize Community tries to offer a prayer service at least once each month. The program for 2014 is shown below.
